iPad 2 vs. Kindle Fire: Which One for Christmas?
Unless you are living under a rock somewhere out there, chances are good that you fall into one of two categories: somebody who owns a tablet or somebody who wants to own a tablet. The part that is less certain is exactly which tablet.
If the news reports and statistics are to be believed, the tablet version of the ‘us vs. them’ fight is being waged between Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Apple’s iPad 2. Certainly there are other options available to you, but those seem to be the front-runner devices being seen at the tops of Christmas wish lists this year.

There is an old saying that has been modified and attributed in many ways to many people that basically suggests that there is no such thing as bad press. At a recent event, Barnes & Noble confirmed rumors of the upcoming release of their follow-up to the Nook Color. This seven-inch tablet, revamped with a duel-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 1080p video, is being touted as another competitor for the iPad due to its low price of only $249.
Whether you support Apple or not it is impossible to argue against their dominance in the tablet category. Holding firm on their price-point strategy since the launch of the iPad in 2010, you can expect to pay $499 for the base model.

The Apple rumor mill is back in full swing this morning, with a report from an analyst who recently toured China and Taiwan to meet component makers. Brian White, of Ticonderoga Securities, has said that he heard tidbits of information about a possible iPad Mini that may be released in early 2012.
