Auryn – Van Gogh and the Sunflowers is a lovely app based on the popular book by Laurence Anholt that is intended to be an “inspiring introduction” to the artist, Vincent van Gogh.
Long before I ever had an iPad, my children and I had a shelf full of books by Sandra Boynton. Boynton’s vibrant and clever board books are cherished by children and enjoyed by parents. I never get tired of reading them to my family which is something I can’t say about any other titles.
A Princess Tale advertises itself as being an app that is created by parents for parents with kids. Whether your child is the prince or the princess, this app is entertainment with an opportunity for learning.

My daughter is just turning 3 and this is the first year she really has a solid understanding of what’s about to go down on Halloween. She’s chosen her costume (a completely adorable Tigger suit) and at least 10 times a day asks me when she gets to put on Tigger and take her pail around to the neighbors saying “trick or treat” and gathering candy. She says the words, but I still get the impression she doesn’t fully understand just what will happen other than it involves candy and that is always a good thing in her books.
The Ogglies are very worried about their dinosaur, Firebottom, and decide to throw him a birthday party to celebrate and cheer him up. All together with their friends Rocky Red, Blinky Blue, and the Chinese girl-dragon Leek-an-Lentil, the oggliest party in history is thrown and they have invited you too!

We all love the message it sends making it a classic for a very good reason. The developers at TabTale have taken this Hans Christian Andersen story and turned it into a very entertaining and engaging app that offers a lovely learning experience for your child that I am pleased to have been able to review.

Teaching your child the alphabet can be a difficult task. My daughter has the ABC song completely memorized from start to finish but we are still working on actually identifying the individual letters, which is why I was very interested in taking a look at VivaKids ABC.
