Players follow the rhythm patterns that are presented to them by the game. There are four beats to each measure and you must tap your note within the appropriate beat. Each row has a more complex series of notes to follow and each song is more challenging than the previous one. If you can get the notes right, you’ll be playing songs like an ‘80s synth-pop band in no time.

Greenlight Drops Lawsuit Against Apple, Says Issue is Resolved

Einhorn, president of Greenlight Capital, speaks during the Sohn Investment Conference in New YorkIn the first week of February, Greenlight Capital hedge fund analyst David Einhorn filed a lawsuit against Apple over a preferred stock option, which would give back some of the company’s huge cash pile to investors.

The next day, Apple issued an official press release saying that the company is exploring cash return options and would be taking Greenlight’s proposal into consideration. Last week, Apple pulled a proposal from its charter that would have allowed shareholders to eliminate preferred stock. Today, Greenlight dropped the lawsuit.

Stream David Bowie’s New Album for Free on Your iPad

In October of 2012, Apple started offering users the ability to listen to music from featured artists before their new albums even released. Previous artists include Matchbox 20, Jack White, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. From now until March 12, when the album launches, David Bowie’s upcoming 14-song album, “The Next Day” will be available to stream for free from iTunes.

On January 8, Bowie released a music video for “Where are we Now,” the fifth song on the album by the pop icon. Today marks the beginning of what is sure to be a big push for Bowie’s first album in 10 years.

In Solve the Outbreak, players take on the role of a Disease Detective. The goal is to look for clues and analyze data in order to solve mystery disease cases and save lives. You will need to complete actions like quarantining sick villages, interrogating sick people, and developing lab results. If you’ve ever dreamed of working for the CDC, this is the app for you.

It Happened Again, Five-Year-Old Spends Thousands of Dollars on In-App Purchases

Less than a week ago, Apple agreed to pay parents back for accidental in-app purchase downloads to the tune of $100 million. The iPad maker will be sending 23 million emails to consumers who complained that their children charged there iTunes account without their knowledge in order to offer them a $5 iTunes credit (cash refunds for amounts greater than $30).

Today, the Telegraph UK reported that a tech savvy five-year-old managed to download $2,500 worth of in-app purchases in only 10 minutes time. Because the tablet did not have parental controls in place, Little Danny Kitchen was able to make 19 expensive purchases on “bombs and keys” that cost the family a month’s mortgage.

Sporos Offers Simple But Challenging Gameplay in a Pretty Package – iPad Game Review

sporosSporos is a simple puzzle game that’s surprisingly challenging, with crisp, neon graphics and a decidedly biological atmosphere. The goal in the game is to infect all of the cells on the board, causing them to light up in phosphorescent colors.

To play, you will drag seeds known as sporos onto the board, one at a time, arranging them in a way to activate all of the spaces on the level. The seeds need to grow through every row and column, which requires both logical thinking and experimentation.

It’s time again, to take a trip back to yesteryear and reminisce about getting dropped off at the arcade downtown and meeting up with your friends for a burger and soda and a long night of dropping quarters in slots. On Flashback Friday, we highlight a game that is either straight out of a previous decade, or at least pays homage to the greats with a legitimately good recreation of a classic arcade game.

Last week, we went on an epic dungeon crawl with Sword of Fargoal. That is the longest-lasting game on my iPad. It has always been with me and always will. This week, we get back into the arcade with a little Galaga family reunion.

liliLili is a totally gorgeous adventure RPG with a compelling storyline and entirely unique gameplay. The game stars Lili, a Lara Croft-esque main character on the lovely island of Geos, who is working on her degree in vegi-magic.

Vegi-magic is indeed as interesting as it sounds, and you will help Lili with her work by collecting an array of arcane flower samples, which, coincidentally, happen to grow on plant constructs. The plant constructs on the island are under the power of the tyrannical spirits, and after befriending the constructs, Lili decides to free them from their spirit overlords.
