Analyst Predicts an ‘Explosive’ Quarter for Apple Based on Strong Demand for iPad, iPhone

Since the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, we’ve heard a lot of reports that Apple’s latest addition to the smartphone market has surpassed all expectations and has even pushed the company into the top rankings in the category. We haven’t heard as much about the new iPad Air 2, with its 2GB of RAM and more powerful processor. However, Analyst Alex Guana of JMP Securities attributes a portion of Apple’s upcoming “exceptionally strong” quarter to its tablet line.

According to a report from Barron’s Tech Trader Daily, Guana raised his price target for Apple stock from $135 to $150 based on data from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as well as his prediction that the company will perform very well in the next fiscal quarter.

Portman Turns Down Steve Jobs Biopic, Why Doesn’t Anyone Want to be in Sorkin’s Movie?

Starting in late October, buzz for the future of Aaron Sorkin-penned biopic about Steve Jobs was high. Six weeks later and it almost seems like the movie is about to be shelved. Amidst the hype, a number of big named celebrities have been offered parts in the film, only to turn down the roles, which begs the question, Why?

According to a recent article in Variety, actress Natalie Portman, who was rumored to be in talks with Universal to play a role in the film, “parted ways with the female lead.” There is not information as to why she turned down a part in the Danny Boyle-directed biopic, but it is known that Portman has a busy schedule, having just finished directing a film she starred in, as well as producing and starring in a handful of upcoming films.
