USPTO Withdraws Objections to iPad mini Trademark, Apple Gets the All Clear
Last week we reported that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office had denied Apple’s trademark application for the iPad mini name because it “merely describes a feature of characteristic of the applicant’s goods.” According to the USPTO, the name was merely a descriptor rather than a unique product name.
Apple was given until July to address the concerns that the USPTO examiner found, but as it turns out, the Cupertino-based company will not need to fight for the iPad mini trademark. A newly published document from the USPTO from last Wednesday reveals that the office withdrew its objections over the iPad mini trademark.
