At this point, coming up with new, interesting stands for the iPad is getting harder. It seems like it has all already been done. There are cases made out of old life rafts, stands made out of LEGOs, and bidets with iPad mounts attached to them. Today, Griffin Technology announced a partnership with Rail Yard Studios to create two new iPad stand designs made from reclaimed rail stock from 1906.
Each stand is made out of parts from the Nashville and Louisville Railroad in 1906 and 1908. The rough edged forged steel stands include the original, hundred-year-old scratches and scuffs from history itself. Because of the natural wear of the stand, it is recommended that you don’t use it without a case to protect your iPad.
