Make Your iPad Look Better Than Your Home Theater Sound System

The BeatBlaster is a slick looking app that turns your iPad into a full-featured hi-fi sound system. Be the envy of your neighbors when you show them how your stereo stacks up against theirs.

The app allows users to play music from their iPad’s music library or select radio stations from various digital radio programs. It doesn’t change the way the music sounds or boosts the bass, but it sure looks good when it is sitting next to your home theater system.

Templates for Pages Pro – iPad App review

Sometimes getting started on a project is the hardest part–that moment when you sit down with your iPad, laptop, computer–whatever–can be seriously overwhelming. Which is why I try to take advantage of any and every tool at my disposal when it comes to that dreaded “now what, how do I get started?” moment.

It’s also why I was excited to try out the new Templates for Pages Pro app. Designed to work specifically with Apple’s Pages app, it puts a suite of ready-to-use templates at your fingertips. Whenever I need to write or update my resume or hammer out a business letter, I love using templates as a guide. I’ll often deviate–quite a bit, actually–from the suggested format, but just having a guide handy can help me break through the procrastination and writer’s block.

Stocktouch Makes Tracking Finances Easier – App Review

Stocktouch is a universal iOS app that innovates the way investors can view the stock market. The app’s unusual UI lets the user view stock data across time, and sort the stocks in each of nine categories by size, market capitalization, percentage gains, volume, and even alphabetically.

Stocktouch refreshes data on 100 US and 100 Global stocks with the greatest market capitalization every five minutes during the market trading day (9:30 – 4:00 pm EST), though it also refreshes on command. Users can mark certain stocks (maybe AAPL?) as favorites, as well as using the app’s search function to find just what they are looking for.

Will eNotebook for iPad Replace the Three-ring Binder? iPad App Review

While notetaking apps proliferate in the App Store, most are aimed squarely at users in higher education or the workplace. We Learn Educational’s eNotebook for iPad differs from Notesplus, Notability or GoodReader by aiming to serve students in grades K – 12 as well as college.

eNotebook allows the user to annotate Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and PDF files. The app operates in a manner similar to a non-destructive photo-editor because as soon as the user selects the pen, highligher, or crop tool, the app switches from “reader” mode to “writer” mode. This helps ensure the user always has a clean copy of any filed document.

Mobile purchasing service Square has been making headlines in recent months. In January, we reported that the Obama Campaign had started accepting mobile payments using the company’s application.

The company’s popularity is exploding in 2012.
