Ridiculous Fishing LogoIf you like fishing games, you are probably not going to be particularly interested in this game. If you like wacky, fun, shooting-fish-outa-the-sky arcade games, then Ridiculous Fishing – A Tale of Redemption won’t seem all that ridiculous to you.

Ridiculous Fishing is an arcade game where players try to drop their line as deep into the ocean as possible. Once you get a bite, your line will reel back up. On the way up, hook as many fish as possible to earn the biggest reward.

clingCling is a maze style puzzle game where the idea is to help a poor lost creature named Edgar who has been lost inside of a toy vending machine. Edgar needs your help to find his way to the transporter so he can escape from each level. Edgar is tentacled, and will hold on and move between pegs on the screen.

To play, you place and hold a finger on the iPad, guiding the creature through the level to the transporter. The goal is to help Edgar find his way to the end of the level as quickly as possible to earn a high star rating.

For a few months now, Apple has been spotlighting games, which we at PadGadget love. Last week, the elusive editors couldn’t decide between two awesome new games, so they gave them both the honor of being “Editor’s Choice.” We were lucky enough to have a chance to play both games. Monster Meltdown is great for it’s interesting graphics and unique gameplay. Block Fortress combines Minecraft with first-person shooter and tower defense gameplay.

dungeonplunderDungeon Plunder is a cross between a slot machine and an RPG, which may seem like an odd combo, but it’s actually quite clever. All combat is based on random chance, making Dungeon Plunder an uniquely fun game.

This is actually a roguelike, which is a genre of games that includes level randomization, permanent death, and turn-based movement. The RPG sub genre originated with the 80’s game Rogue and has been popular ever since. Dungeon Plunder’s closest iOS counterpart is the King Cashing series, which was updated a couple of weeks ago. Dungeon Plunder is a bit more forgiving than traditional a roguelike, but it’s still plenty tough.

furyofthegodsI don’t know what it is about playing master of the universe, but games where players take on the role of an overlord are always exceptionally popular. Remember Black and White? Countless people loved serving up natural disasters and ordering their creatures to devour pious peasants (myself included).

Pocket God, the iOS game that puts you in control of the fate of an endless stream of Island Villagers, was also exceptionally well received. Free Trapped Animals and Slay Enemies In Endless Runner Mini Ninja – iPad Game Review

minininjasMini Ninjas is a super fun dojo-themed endless runner that’s fast-paced, challenging, and addictive. One of my favorite endless running games is FANTASYxRUNNERs, and Mini Ninjas highly reminds me of that app. Not only are you running and jumping to avoid obstacles, you’re also attacking to slaughter your enemies.

This game sucked me in right from the beginning thanks to the impressive 3D graphics and the authentic dojo environment. The main ninja character is adorably cute, as are the other characters that can be unlocked.

Abyss LogoG5 Entertainment has been making some fantastic Hidden Objects games since the company first started showing up in the App Store. Every new release seems to be an improvement on the last and Abyss: the Wraiths of Eden HD does not disappoint. They’ve moved out of basic Hidden Object games and into something much deeper and more challenging.

Players start by learning about the disappearance of Robert Marceau, and how his fiancé is on a mission to find him. He was last seen underwater in a diving expedition to investigate the lost city of Eden.

Outland Games Will Make You Run For Your Life – iPad App Review

Outland Games LogoEndless runner games are a dime a dozen in the App Store, and some of them are even “free-a-dozen.” So, it is not easy to find a refreshing and interesting way to make a game that people will enjoy. Right out of the gate, I knew that Outland Games would hold my interest, mainly because of the funny quips the announcer was say, but also because it is a smooth, fun, and exciting game for the endless runner genre.

Players are set to become infamous by running a course that is intended to entertain the masses and kill the runner. Jump, slash, and run your way through robot warriors, spiky pits, and increasingly difficult terrain.
