Apple Expands iTunes Store Reach with Launch in 54 New Countries

Earlier today it was announced that Apple would be launching the iTunes Store in Russia, and as of tonight, iTunes is available in Russia and 53 other countries like Turkey, India, and South Africa.

While some of these countries previously had access to an App Store, access to music is entirely new. Each iTunes Store will feature local artists, including Elka in Russia, Sezen Aksu in Turkey, and Zahara in South Africa.

Google Tightens the Screws on Apple with Revamped Maps for Android

Remote App Update: New Interface, New Features

This morning Apple released iTunes 11 and with the new software came an updated version of the iOS Remote app. Apple’s Remote app allows users to control iTunes and the Apple TV with the iPhone and the iPad.

In version 3.0 of the app, users will find a completely new interface designed specifically for the iPad. While the older version of the app resembled iTunes 10, the update has brought a redesign that looks similar to the new iTunes 11.

iTunes 11: Here’s What’s New

iTunes 11 was released this morning, after being delayed for a month in late October. The new software features several enhancements, including a completely redesigned user interface that’s simpler and easier to use.

Along with a new color scheme, the update to iTunes has greatly improved load times and search speeds. You will find the new iTunes is much speedier in general usage. Scrolling is no longer clunky and slow, and the App Store loads quickly.

Is the iPad Mini the Perfect Holiday Gift?

In a recently conducted Nielsen survey, 36 percent of kids aged 6–12 said that the item that they wanted most for the holidays was an iPad mini.

Adults and consumers over the age of 13 also had a high desire for a mini, at 11 percent, putting Apple’s tablet in the top ten most wished for gifts this season.

There’s a good reason that the iPad mini is at the top of so many Christmas wish lists this year – it’s small, it’s portable, it’s light, and it’s the perfect size to fit in a hand. After all, it weighs just 308 grams (just over half a pound) and is only 7.2 millimeters wide.
