Paypal Releases New SDK for iOS to Make Mobile Shopping Even Easier

paypalPaypal has announced several new tools for developers, most notably a new iOS SDK that can be used by developers. This is exciting news for those of us who like to shop on our iDevices, because it means that soon, it will be even easier to use Paypal within apps.

Right now, when you make a purchase in an app like Zappos and choose to pay with Paypal, you are prompted to exit the app and enter mobile Safari or Paypal’s iOS app in order to complete the payment. It’s a bit of a hassle.

Flyers Prefer Apple Over Android in Flight

gogoAccording to information from Gogo Inflight, the largest U.S. provider of in-air Wi-Fi, Apple’s devices are the most popular choice on planes, with the iPad being the most popular in-flight device of all. Apple devices are used by 84 percent of flyers, while 16 percent of travelers use Android.

Tablets, unsurprisingly, are the top choice among travelers. 35 percent of passengers who use in-flight Wi-Fi do so on a tablet, while 33 percent use a laptop and 32 percent use a smartphone. Of those who use Apple devices, 36 percent use an iPhone, 59 percent use an iPad, and just five percent use an iPod touch.

Marvel Comics Launches New ‘Marvel Unlimited’ Comic Subscription Service for iOS

marvelMarvel Comics have been available on the iPad piecemeal for quite some time now, at a cost of approximately $3.99 per comic. Marvel has also offered free digital downloads with print copies, but now there’s an even better way for comic addicts to get an affordable comic fix on the iPad – the new Marvel Unlimited comic subscription service.

The Marvel Unlimited app offers iOS users access to Marvel’s full catalog of 13,000 comics for just $60 per year or $10 a month. That’s 70 years worth of comics for the cost of a few lattes, which is not a bad deal for those of you who like to read a whole lot of comics.

Apple’s Music Streaming Negotiations Reportedly Stalled Due to Low Royalty Offers

streamingmusicAccording to The New York Post, the reason negotiations have stalled between record companies and Apple in regards to the Cupertino-based company’s potential Internet music service has to do with royalty rates. Apparently, Apple is offering a price that’s far too low, which has record companies reluctant to accept.

Apple initially proposed a royalty payment of 6 cents per 100 songs streamed, which is exactly half of the 12 cents per 100 songs that Pandora pays. Pandora is currently the leading radio service, though recently, the company has been forced to limit its free users to 40 hours of mobile listening per week due to cost increases.

Its not often you get to be a zombie, which is a thematic element that makes the Infect Them All series unique. It is fantastically fun to stagger around sinking your rotting teeth into fleeing humans, putting a nice twist on the typical zombie slaying games that are found in the App Store.

Can You Survive the Worm Run? – iPad Game Review

wormrunWorm Run is a side scrolling platformer with a unique control scheme. In most platform games you use a joystick to run forward while additional buttons implement jumps or other maneuvers. Worm Run, though, uses swipe gestures for movement, and it incorporates endless running style gameplay for a fresh feel.

In the game, you will take on the role of Zeke Tallahassee, a space janitor who is unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, finding himself running for his life from a giant worm that’s equipped with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

Battle Famous Celebrity Zombies in Crazy Bill – iPad Game Review

crazybillCrazy Bill, from Ivanovich Games, combines zombie slaying with endless running, two of my favorite iOS game elements. Though there are a never ending stream of zombie titles hitting the App Store, I never seem to tire of slaughtering wave after wave of zombies, and Crazy Bill offers non-stop zombie smashing action.

This game takes place in a hotel, but it’s not your run of the mill bed and breakfast. Instead, this is a high class zombie hotel that houses the hottest zombie celebrities. You will take on the role of Bill, a man who is dedicated to clearing out the zombie filth. Read More »
