A few years ago, Bandwidth launched a comprehensive app that shows off George Harrison’s collection of historic guitars, including his Rickenbacker, Gretsch, and Telecaster. In addition to the detailed, 360-degree images, fans can hear George playing, watch videos of other celebrities playing his guitars, and listen to interviews with legendary musicians.
The Guitar Collection: George Harrison has been priced at $9.99 until a few days ago when it was updated with iOS 7 and iPhone support. You can now download the Beatles mania app for 90 percent off of what it was a week ago.
The app features full 360-degree images of each of George’s guitars. Touch the instrument to rotate it, zoom in and out, and more. Thanks to realistic imaging from photographer Steven Sebring, you will be able to see every scratch, ding, and worn thread.
Tap the screen to see a detailed view of facts about each guitar, including the origin, how George came to own it, modifications that were made, and why each guitar is so important to his sound.
The app is equipped with a playlist feature that lets you listen to songs on your iPad that George played certain guitars on. If you don’t own the song, you can listen to a sample of it in the iTunes Store.
Listen to celebrities, like Ben Harper, Josh Homme, Conan O’Brien, Tom Petty, and Eric Clapton play along to George’s guitars. Plus, see archive pictures of the former Beatles’ guitarist with his many instruments.
In the past, you may have been tempted to check out these high-quality images, but didn’t want to pay the premium price. Now you can check out George’s Gibson collection, his ukulele collection, and his Cherry Les Paul for only $0.99.
The Guitar Collection: George Harrison is available on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Download it in the App Store today and increase your knowledge of all-things Beatles.
