Target is Handing Out $200 Gift Cards for Trading in Old iPads – Even for an iPad First Generation

Target Trade InIf you’ve been on the fence about upgrading from your old iPad, Target has just made it easier for you to decide. Between now and Nov. 9, you can trade in any used iPad, including the first-generation model, and receive a minimum of a $200 gift card. Combine that with Target’s already discounted price on the new iPad Air, and you can walk out of the store with Apple’s newest generation tablet for only $279.

The only caveat is that you must bring your iPad into a Target store with Target Mobility inside. The company offers online trade-in quotes for about $65 for the first generation iPad. So, you won’t see the deal through the website. However, if you are lucky enough to live near a Target Mobility store, bring in your old model iPad for $200 in store credit.

Target only requires that your iPad must power on and the screen must not be scratched. So, if you’ve managed to keep your first-generation tablet in relatively good working condition, you’ll be able to get rid of it without losing out.

To trade your old iPad in and receive at least $200, find your local Target Mobility store, get your device appraised (remember, you’ll get at least $200, no matter what), exchange your device for a Target gift Ccard. The card can be used for any merchandise at any Target store worldwide. You could even hold off on using the gift card until after the new iPad mini is launched and get one for only $99.

My local target was insisting that the $200 HAD to be used for a new iPad immediately. Couldn’t be used for anything else. Couldn’t be saved for a later day.
