The holiday season means so much less to me as an adult. I remember waking up early in the morning to open presents when I was a kid and the magic that surrounded new toys and time with family. Now that I’m all grown up, it is the pre-holiday season that I look forward to each year when new ‘toys’ are released in September and October.
If you hoped that a new iPad was going to be announced or released at the September Apple event, then it looks like you will be disappointed. It seems that September 10th is going to be limited to iPhones and iOS. That’s perfectly fine with me because it means that I have something to look forward to in September AND October.
This confirmation comes from Apple insider Jim Dalrymple who in his typical style simply said, “Nope. No iPads.” It is unlikely that Dalrymple has incorrect information and so the rumors will ramp up for an October iPad event.
Dalrymple’s denial came in response to a Mac Rumors post about an article where Bloomberg suggests that the upcoming event will also include new iPads. The original article has since been updated to remove references to the iPad, which further confirms the unlikely release of a new iPad in September.
Now that we have some clarity on the issue, it is time to get on to other rumors about with is coming this fall and when they will come. No matter what, I’m anxiously waiting for the holidays to come early once again this year. While the specific details of new devices is something I find interesting, it really comes down to faster and smaller in most cases and there are very few surprises these days. I am crossing my fingers that Apple will pull something out that nobody sees coming, which would be the best gift of all.
