Google’s answer to the set-top box, Chromecast, allows users to stream media from their mobile device to their HDTV. The device simply plugs into your television set and connects with your smartphone or tablet using local Wi-Fi. Today, Google launched the Chromecast app for iOS making it possible for you to stream all your favorite movies, shows, and videos from your iPad to your big screen TV.
Chromecast for iOS makes it possible to use your iPhone or iPad to view content on your television screen. Plus, you can control the volume, pause, and play shows, and more. You can also send emails and surf the web while streaming shows from your device.
Chromecast lets you stream media from apps like Netflix and Hulu Plus, but it also allows you to project any browser tab to your television set. Similar to Airplay mirroring, Chromecast turns your TV into a giant computer screen. You can show your friends pictures from your Flickr stream, watch YouTube videos, and even see what your buddies are up to on Facebook.
