With the exception of beta 4, Apple has regularly been on track with its beta launches for iOS 7. Yesterday, the company launched the sixth version for the test round of the upcoming update to its mobile operating software. If everything goes according to plan, this will be the final beta version for developers and the Gold Master (GM) version will be sent to partners on Sept. 5, just days ahead of Apple’s rumored product launch.
Recently, AllThingsD claimed to have insider knowledge about when Apple plans to hold its next big event. According to their sources, the big day will be Sept. 10. If the rumor is true, it would coincide with the public launch of Apple’s iOS 7.
We’ve heard a lot of information and seen a lot of pictures of the beta program running on the iPhone. However, word on the street is that the iPad version still has a lot of bugs to work out. It is possible that Apple will only launch iOS 7 for the iPhone at the purported Sept. 10 event.
According to analyst predictions, Apple may not announce the next generation of iPad and iPad mini at the same iPhone event. If Gene Munster’s prediction is correct, it could also mean that Apple will hold off on launching iOS 7 for the iPad until the wrinkles are smoothed out. Or, at least until they have the later iPad event.
