Evernote has just released another major update to its self-titled app. Now, you will be able to access your most important notes faster than ever. Plus, now your related clippings and notes will be gathered into one convenient location instead of being spread around and recently viewed items will be at your fingertips.
According to the developer’s blog, version 5.4 adds features that will help you “rediscover your notes, jump to the content that’s important to you, easily annotate just about anything in your account, and learn helpful tips.”
Shortcuts (also known as Favorites) lets you keep important notes, notebooks, and tags at the top of your list. They will sync across all devices so that, no matter where you are using Evernote, you’ll be able to find the goods.
Related Notes, which is a premium feature, is a program inside Evernote that looks for helpful items in your account that may be related to a project you are working on. Recent Notes will display recently viewed items at the bottom of an open note, which allows users to multi-task by switching between notes they are working on. Premium users can toggle between Recent and Related notes.
If you use Skitch, you can now use it inside Evernote. Skitch is an annotation app by Evernote that lets you mark up images, PDFs and notes that you can share with others. If you receive a note that contains an annotated PDF, you can add your own comments by tapping the “Edit with Skitch” tab, which will allow you to mark up the note, even with multiple texts and images. The Skitch PDF Annotation is a premium feature.
To keep up on all of the latest news, updates, and how-to guides that Evernote posts, they’ve added a special Announcements section to the app that includes curated articles from their blog. That way, you can read news and information at your leisure on or offline.
Version 5.4 is a free update to Evernote, which is also free. Download it in the App Store today.
