Are you a musician looking for good apps to compliment your creativity? Maybe you just love music a whole lot. If you are as big a music fan as we are here at PadGadget, then we’ve got some fun apps and accessories for you. Last week, we told you about Composer’s Piano, which is an app that lets users record two tracks of music from a virtual synthesizer and edit in real time to help you create songs with a few simple taps.
This week, we have a retro-style drum machine app for the rhythmic side of you. FunkBox Drum Machine lets your relive your younger years with vintage beatbox sounds. Go back to the seventies and eighties for simple, yet traditional drum beats with this quirky little app.
Users can experience old school drum machine styles with hundreds of classic sounds sampled from actual vintage beatboxes. There are 36 preset drum patterns to choose from and users can create a custom beat as well.
You can tap out your own pattern using the drum pads to add your own special beats to the mix.
The app features a built-in mixer to allow users to adjust volume, pan and accent levels, change tempo and more. You can also sync this app to an external drum machine using a MIDI interface like the iRig MIDI.
You can create your own patterns, record the audio and send it through mail as a .WAV file. You can also use Audio clipboard to transfer the date to another app via Intua Clipboard, or share it through iTunes file sharing.
FunkBox is now compatible with Audiobus, making it possible for you to sync this app with other compatible music apps for a multi-track musical experience.
If you were a sampler in the eighties, or had your own Roland drum box in the seventies, you will love the realistic sounds and familiar set up that this app has to offer. For such a low price, you get 14 different drum machines and more.
Funkbox Drum Machine is available in the App Store now for $5.99.
