Just on the heels of iOS 6.1, a new team of hackers has launched a public jailbreak for all devices capable of running iOS 6 and higher. Evad3rs has managed an untethered jailbreak called “evasi0n” that will allow iPhone and iPad owners the opportunity to jailbreak their device.
The evasi0n jailbreak is supported by iPhones as old as iPhone 3GS. It also supports iPad 2 and newer, the iPad mini, and the fourth and fifth-generation of iPod touch devices.
You can download it from Mac running OS X 10.5 or higher, Windows XP or newer, and Linux from the evasi0n website.
Because this jailbreak is untethered, users can reboot their device without having to reinstall the download. If the jailbreak were tethered, you’d have to reinstall the jailbreak every time you rebooted your device.
Tech blog iDownloadBlog created a how-to video for those jailbreaking their device for the first time.
