No More Sleeping, Its Time to Wake the Cat – iPad App Review

Wake the Cat LogoIf you’re in the mood for a cute and cuddly physics-based puzzle game, then you’ve found the cutest. Wake the Cat will make you purr with happiness. Watch out for moving trains and blustery fans as you maneuver a ball of yarn across the floor and into the sleepy paws of the cuddly kitty.

Players must figure out how to get a ball of yarn from one side of the room to the other. Sometimes, only a box is in the way. Other times, there is so much junk on the floor it’s a wonder anyone can walk through the room at all.

To send the ball rolling, touch and drag the screen in the direction you want it to go. The longer you drag your finger across the screen, the further the ball will roll. If you aim just right, the ball will roll across the floor, ricochet off of obstacles, and eventually land in front of the sleeping cat.

The levels start out fairly easy, but become increasingly difficult. You’ll find yourself trying to maneuver through moving toy trains, fans that blow the yarn away, and ramps that need to be rotated mid-use.

As the challenges increase, it becomes even harder to figure out how to get the yarn to the kitty. If you find yourself stuck, you can request a hint. Use your hints wisely. You can only have one per hour. You can spend $0.99 through an in-app purchase to remove the time restrictions on hints, but it is better to try to figure the puzzle out on your own.

This game is entertaining and enjoyable for anyone who likes physics-based puzzle games. The levels are fairly simple to play. Even the harder levels don’t take too much brainpower. It is perfect for casual gaming without getting too involved.

What I liked: The graphics are clean and bright. The artwork is cute and cuddly.

What I didn’t like: Nothing!

To buy or not to buy: The game is free to download and you only need to spend $1.99 at the most to remove the time limit restrictions and unlock all levels at once. It is definitely worth checking out for fans of the genre.
