It’s more than just another iPad stand — Swivl really moves. This device includes a motion and tracking platform that will support an iPad (as well as an iPhone, DSLR camera, or Android device). Swivl is sleek and sturdy; it’ll look good in the boardroom but is tough enough for an outdoor photo shoot. With its successful Kickstarter campaign nearly complete, Swivl should be ready for market by mid-summer 2013.
A boon for DSLR enthusiasts, Swivl allows the user to turn an iPad into a camera remote control with the Swivl DSLR control app, making long exposure shots or time lapse photography much easier.
Swivl’s robotic eye follows the user as he moves, making it easier to use FaceTime or Skype from a conference room or classroom.
Swivl comes in two versions basic white or swankier silver. Both models include the following:
- Remove-able cable interface for audio and camera data
- Bluetooth & WiFi control by mobile device
- Continuous 360 degree pan
- 20 degree tilt
- Rechargeable batteries and AC Adapter for 6+ hours of operation
- Charges your mobile device
- Mounting kit for iPad, DSLR and device of choice
The Swivl Silver adds a tracking remote, wireless mic, and speakers.
Swivl has already bested its initial $120K goal, and it will be funded, but Interested backers need to pledge before the funding period ends on Tuesday January 15, 2013.
Pledge $125 for a white Swivl ($149 MSRP) or $175 for the silver Swivl ($229 MSRP). Either option includes a carrying case.
