Want a Stylus with a Pen? Try the InTuition Pen/Stylus – a Kickstarter Project

InTuition Pen/Stylus wants to be your forever stylus. Currently this attractive, sturdy iOS accessory seeks funding through Kickstarter. As the name suggests the InTuition is both stylus and pen, but since both ends of its carbon fiber and titanium barrel are refillable, the InTuition has the potential to to outlast many of its competitors — just don’t lose it!

The InTuition will come equipped with a 0.5 mm black ink refill and a stylus tip. When it’s time for a refill, the stylus takes Wacom Bamboo Stylus refills as well as Pilot Hi-Tec-C inserts, which come in several widths ranging from 0.25 – 0.5 mm and 30 ink colors. Since both types of refills are affordable and relatively easy to come by, neither should be unavailable when needed.

The InTuition was designed to make changing both types of refills a snap. The stylus also includes a metal cap that fits, conveniently, on either end of the stylus.

At a time when tech lovers endure the planned obsolescence of products they use, it’s great to see an iOS stylus that won’t end up in a landfill when its tip gets beat up or its pen runs out of ink.

Interested backers can still get in on the early bird offer with a pledge of $65, a savings of $15 over the standard $85 pledge level.

Pledge before the funding period ends on December 29, 2012. Though the InTuition won’t be ready for this year’s holiday gift season, its creator hopes to deliver all styli by January 2013.

If you are interested in a pen/stylus duo that does not have a rubber tip, I’ve been incredibly satisfied with my TruGlide Pro DuoStylus from LYNKtec. It has a microfiber tip on one end and a capped ballpoint pen on the other which works great as a college student.
