Recruit a Trusted Travel Companion with TripRider – iPad App Review

A truly fantastic trip takes a lot of planning then afterward it’s fun to share with your friends and family. TripRider is the perfect app to have on hand, helping you “organise, capture and share your journey.” Whether you travel alone or with a group of friends, TripRider will make certain that you are prepared.

With TripRider you can spend time enjoying your journey and remove the stress of getting ready for it!

While adding a new trip to the app, you can specify the dates and days you will be on your way. From there, you can add countries that you will visit, along with the base currency and your budget. Once you define this trip ‘container’, you can use the app to create your trip plan (including the accommodations and places you are hoping to visit while also identifying the day and date for each), keep track of your funds (including where they are located and giving you a detailed expense report to make sure your spending is in line), create a packing list (with a number of pre-defined categories so you don’t miss a thing), add maps, create a trip diary or even just add a few quick notes.

TripRider is comprehensive and enjoyable to use. After you have used it once, you will wonder how you ever traveled without it.

What I liked: The layout of the app is very intuitive and all design choices were made with care –the fonts are clear and easy to read while still having a lot of style.

What I didn’t like: The app is nearly silent. It is amazing how far a few sound effects can go toward making an interface feel more interactive.

To buy or not to buy: If you have an upcoming trip to plan or you want to enter in past trips so you can re-live your favorite moments, TripRider is an excellent purchase for your iPad app library.
