Wrangle the Animals into Line in Zookeeper DX – iPad Game Review

Zookeeper DX is an addictive match three puzzle game. Your goal is to catch as many animals as possible, which take on the form of ultra cute blocks.

In the main part of the game, you simply touch an animal and slide up to swap blocks. If you match three or more of the same animals they will be cleared from the board.

Match animal after animal to make chains, in order to score extra points. In every stage, you will have a target number of animals to catch before you are able to move on.

Every level increases the number of animals that you have to catch, making the game more difficult as you progress. There’s also a timer, and you need to finish the game before it runs out. This timer will countdown faster and faster as you race through the levels.

There are blocks that will clear several animals at once, but beyond that, the gameplay in Zookeeper DX is simplistic.

The game has one other mode, Tokoton, which has a target limit of 100 animals with no stages – it’s akin to an endless game mode.

Zookeeper DX also links to Kiteretsu’s other game, Zookeeper Battle, where you can play the same match three game online against other players.

Zookeeper Battle is a similar game, but it has in-app purchases. With Zookeeper DX, you don’t need to buy anything to play, but the simple gameplay can get repetitive. There are no Game Center achievements, but there are Game Center leaderboards so players can compete with friends and family for the highest score.

What I liked: This is an adorable game that’s sure to delight kids and adults alike. It’s filled with super cute animals and the simple gameplay is great for all ages.

What I didn’t like: It’s just a basic match three game, which can get boring after a round or two.

To buy or not to buy: Zookeeper DX is entirely free to download and has no in-app purchases, so it is definitely worth picking up.

It always makes me sad when I see a game with no achievements. We did a poll and found out that most of the time it was just a matter of time, or a steep learning curve. They wanted to add it, but because of those things they could not get it in time. Most of the time they also said that they will be coming in the future. This looks like a great game for my daughter. I will have to let her check it out. Thanks.
