White iPad Mini Already Sold Out – How Long Will Remaining Inventory Hold?

Have you pre-ordered your iPad Mini? If you didn’t and you had your heart set on a white one, you are going to have to wait; only black models remained a few hours after pre-ordering began for the new, smaller iPad. First shipments of the new iPad will begin on November 2, 2012 with the second run expected to follow behind with what Apple predicts as about 2 weeks later.

Being able to play with yet another new Apple product this fall may make it seem like Christmas is coming early for those who got in early or don’t mind having a black iPad Mini, and who also happen to live in one of the lucky initial launch countries (including: U.S., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.).

White units are always popular for all Apple devices, with that color carrying a distinct Apple branding that isn’t commonly seen among their competitors who overwhelmingly seem to stick with black. Is color choice worth waiting for? If you are going to slap a case on it anyway, color may not actually be that important (or visible).

Why did you (or didn’t you) order an iPad Mini? If you did, what about the new tablet are you most looking forward to?
