Create Great Looking Photo Albums for Your Family with ScrapPad – iPad App Review

Are you a scrapbook enthusiast? If so, you probably know that the paper, stickers, and photos are expensive, time consuming, and sometimes messy to put together. The digital alternative, however, offers all of the fun at a fraction of the cost and with none of the mess. And the best part? No paper cuts.

As far as digital scrapbooking goes, you won’t do better than ScrapPad, the best scrapbook for the iPad. This app has high quality layouts, themed kits, and hundreds of stickers, backgrounds, and embellishments.

When you open the app, you’ll be greeted with a short tutorial on how to use the various elements. Controls generally consist of dragging, pinching, and twisting, and they’re easy to pick up and use. You won’t have any trouble learning to use this app.

After the tutorial, you will be able to create your first book. Tapping on the create button takes you to a blank scrapbooking page, which is ready for your photos and ideas.

To begin a page, you’ll want to select a kit, which is a collection of backgrounds, borders, embellishments, and stickers. The app comes with 20 different kits, with themes ranging from birthday and Christmas to Halloween and back to school. Almost every major holiday and life event are covered.

Selecting a kit will give you a range of different options, all tied together with one unifying theme. For example, the Halloween theme has 20 different backgrounds, 12 borders, 35 embellishments, and 36 stickers.

All of these can be used in conjunction to create the perfect page for whatever story you want to tell. You’ll want to start by picking a background, but from there, you can enter photos too.

To add photos to the page, just tap on the photo button, and select from your camera roll or take a picture with the camera. When you’ve added photos, you can add embellishments and stickers to spice up each page.

Text can be added with the text button, which is next to the photo button. If you want to create digital invitations or cards that don’t have photos, you can use all of the app’s elements to do this. There are a wide range of fonts, font sizes, and colors that you can use for complete customization.

With all of the different kits, with their included extras like stickers and embellishments, you can make hundreds of different designs and pages – the only limit to what you can create is your own imagination.

If you get bored with what’s already in the app or need something specific, there are a range of extra kits that you can buy in the app, each for $0.99.

When you’ve completed your scrapbooking pages you can email the book, print it, save it to the photo library, or post it to Facebook. There are a variety of ways to save your work so that you can share it with friends and family.

What I liked: This app offers a ton of content for every occasion. It’s also easy to arrange elements on the page to create unique stories.

What I didn’t like: I had a crashing issue that caused me to lose all of my work, which was disappointing. I’d be upset if I had spent hours on something just to lose it.

To buy or not to buy: If you’re a scrapbooking enthusiast looking to create some digital works of art, this app is a fantastic choice. It’s a bit pricy, but you get a lot of content for what you pay.
