iPad Mini Availability “Confirmed” for November 2

Just two days ago, Geeky Gadgets told the world that a reliable source leaked information that the iPad mini, which still has not been officially announced, would ship on Nov. 2. Shortly after Geeky Gadgets made their announcement, 9to5Mac tweeted their own rumor about the big day.

Today, TechCrunch is reporting information from a reliable source that confirms the two previous statements.

TechCrunch’s information is that the iPad mini will ship a week and a half after the unveiling on Oct. 23, a date that is official for Apple’s special event. The tech blog mentions that their unnamed source is reliable with unreleased Apple information.

No one is mentioning when they think pre-orders will be made available. Apple is notorious for not following any particular plan when it comes to pre-orders.

The iPad mini is expected to make a huge dent in the tablet market this holiday season with analysts predicting that as many as 10 million units will ship in its first quarter. However, some reports are saying that the iPad mini is complex and no corners have been cut in the design of the tablet, so manufacturing deadlines may be hard to meet.
