Blueprint 3D HD Brings Photo Explode To Puzzle Gaming — iPad App Review

Blueprint 3D HD is a popular puzzle game based on broken images that come together at the correct angles. With version 2.0, the challenging game turns your photos into interactive puzzle games.
Each level starts with, what appears to be, a random bit of flotsam on the screen. However, if you rotate the three-dimensional shapes, an image will appear and the puzzle will be solved.
To move the image around, drag your finger slowly around on the screen and you’ll see the shapes start to come together. Use a line or section of shading as a guide to bring the shapes into focus. As you get closer to solving the puzzle, the image will start to appear.
You may have moved the angle of the shapes into correct focus, but it may be upside down or sideways. Some images will need additional rotation in order to be deemed “solved.”
Players earn stars for completing puzzles. The faster you connect the shapes into an image, the more stars you earn. Stars are used to unlock more difficult modes.
There are three modes of difficulty. In normal mode, the auto-completion triggers with a broader puzzle connection, there is a hint given to tell players where the top of the image is, and blueprints are labeled so that the direction of the image is much easier to find. Advanced and pro modes don’t offer top hints or labeled blueprints and pro mode has multiple layers, making puzzle solving nearly impossible, even for images you’ve already seen.
The new update turns this puzzle game into an interactive camera effects app. With the “3D-Explode” camera feature players can create puzzles out of things they see in front of them. Take a picture of your cat and turn your photo into an interactive 3D puzzle.
At the game’s menu page, select “Create.” From here you can either take a picture using your iPad’s camera, or select an image from your picture library. The picture will then “explode” on your screen, turning into a line drawing puzzle. You can edit the 3D explosion by increasing or decreasing the blueprint effect, change the background, and erase any area of the image you don’t want to have in the final puzzle.
Once you’ve edited and finalized your 3D Explosion, you can save it to play as part of the game and share it with friends and family through email, Facebook and Twitter.
The new update also adds a whole new puzzle pack for Halloween. This new level pack offers 27 new puzzles that are themed with spooky Halloween fun.
What I liked: This game comes with more than 300 puzzles to solve and new level packs come free with new updates. I loved being able to take pictures and turn them into 3D puzzles.
What I didn’t like: Nothing!
To buy or not to buy: This is the best 3D puzzle app that I’ve seen in the App Store so far. The 3D camera feature makes it even more amazing and worth downloading for anyone who likes these kinds of games.
