Just as was predicted earlier this week, Apple has just sent invitation to industry media for an event that is almost definitely to announce the launch of the iPad mini. As was first reported at The Loop, Apple announced on Tuesday a special event that will take place this Oct. 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
The invitation reads, “We’ve got a little more to show you.” There can really only be one reason that Apple would hold a special event only a month before the start of the holiday shopping season. The rumored product-refreshes and 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina don’t warrant such an extraordinary event.
Normally, Apple invites the media to the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco for big announcements. However, this event will take place at the California Theatre in San Jose instead. This significantly smaller venue means that only a select few media types will be invited to attend.
The iPad mini is speculated to be 7.85-inches, a brushed aluminum backside, Wi-Fi + 4G LTE capability, a lightning dock, and a price point of around $399. In just one week, all of our predictions, estimates, rumors, and speculation will finally be laid to rest.
