You may have already heard whispers in the dark about a team-up with America’s most popular birds and the world’s most famous sci-fi movie. Today, Rovio Entertainment, the creators of Angry Birds, announced the collaboration officially. That’s right, Angry Birds and Star Wars have been mashed together into one, fabulous game.
On Nov. 8, Rovio Entertainment will launch Angry Birds Star Wars, which combines the famous physics-based gameplay of the bird-versus-pig phenomenon with the iconic imagery of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and more.
“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in a galaxy far, far away,” said Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of the Mighty Eagle and Rovio. “As a big Star Wars fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one.”
The game is sure to be a big hit and will coincide with a merchandising launch that we haven’t seen since The Phantom Menace. You’ll be able to dress up like Angry Bird Skywalker this Halloween, or simply start collecting a new series of Star Wars action figures starting Oct. 28.
Check out the teaser trailer below that Rovio recently posted on their website. The company promises to reveal new bits of information every day, so be sure to follow their Tumblr blog to find out more.
If anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering, will all these birds end up as Sith?
