The only accessory that the iPad lacks that prevents it from being a serious gaming device is a controller. Duo Games and Gameloft are aiming to fill that gap, turning the iPad into a console-competitive device with the new Duo Gamer iPad compatible handheld gaming controller.
Duo Gamer is a Blueooth enabled wireless controller and dock, which connects to the iPad, the iPhone, or the iPod touch.
To use the system, gamers will attach their iOS devices to the Duo Gamer Stand, then connect wirelessly with Bluetooth. The Duo Gamer is designed to work with Gameloft games, which will give players quite a bit of selection.
iOS devices can also be connected to the television using AirPlay, so players can access their favorite games on the big screen.
The Duo Gamer controller is designed with console controllers in mind. It has six different buttons plus a d-pad, and out of the box, it will work with games like Asphalt 7: Heat, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and N.O.V.A 3.
You can get your own Duo Gamer controller on October 5 for $79.99 from Amazon.com, or from a brick and mortar Target store.
