Last Temple 2 is a match-three game that puts you in the tropical jungle wild where you must use your survival training and puzzle-solving skills to make it out alive. Time is of the essence in this fast-paced matching challenge. Don’t let down your guard or you may not find your way out.
Players are given a board of hexagons that are filled with different items. There are leaves, flowers, clay pots and others. Match at least three of one kind of item to remove it from the board and unlock the hexagon. The goal is to unlock all hexagons on the board within a limited amount of time.
The only thing you have to do to match items is make sure they are next to each other. Touch and drag your finger across all items that are the same and touching on at least one side. The more matches, or combos, you make at one time, the higher your score. Matching big runs also replenishes the magic bar, which helps unlock hexagons.
There are special items that, when matched with others, will help clear the board by destroying locked hexagons.
It is important to strategize and create as many combos as possible, but time is also important in this game. Players only have a few minutes to clear the board and they lose one star when ever the time drops by one-third of the total. Stars can be used to purchase power ups that help clear the board.
Players also earn “Waka,” which is the cost to use the power up on any level. You earn lots of Waka every time you beat a level, but if you get stuck and have to replay the same board over and over, you’ll run out of Waka pretty fast.
This game is very difficult because of the various elements involved. Players must keep track of combo points, the magic bar, and how fast they lose stars.
Instead of a casual game of matching tiles, you’ll find yourself on the edge of your seat, trying to clear the board as fast as possible.
There are five worlds with 20 levels in each for a lengthy adventure with lots of puzzles.
What I liked: The graphics are fantastic. The visual effect of the power bonuses is beautiful. The game is very exciting.
What I didn’t like: It is a little too difficult for my taste. I like my matching games to be slightly less intense. This might be a selling point for some players, but for me, I just feel frustrated at not being able to get a better score.
To buy or not to buy: If you are getting bored with typical matching games and are looking for a little excitement, this is your game. If, like me, you like to wind down with a good matching game, not get wound up with one, this may be too stressful for you.
