When Polariod went under, photographers everwhere let out a sigh of sadness. Although the instant photos were less than stellar in quality, they hearken back to a time we remember of snapping a picture and then waiting for the magic to reveal our moment captured in time.
App developers have made a business out of reviving our love of the Polariod with various filters and frames that turn our digital memories into instant, squared photos through our iPhone and iPad. ThinkTime Creations’ popular Mac app Instant has just been released for Apple’s tablet.
Now, you can turn all your mobile memories into Polaroid snapshots.
Instant: The Polaroid Instant Photos for iPad allows users to take pictures with the iPad’s camera, or select from the device’s camera roll and choose from 30 different filters, including 10 classic Polaroid filters, to create a nostalgic image with realistic effects. “When a user selects or shoots a photo, an ‘undeveloped’ dark Polaroid film appears to slide out from the bottom of the camera on screen. Slowly the film is developed and the final picture is unveiled for the user to then customize.”
Users can also add the classic Polaroid border logo format and add their own title or comment using the app’s handwriting fonts. Choose from 10 different fonts and adjust color, size and position of the words anywhere on the image.
Images created in Instant can be shared with friends and family through email, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and Instagram.
Instant fully supports Retina Display and is available in the App Store for $1.99. Pick it up now and start reliving your instant photo memories.
