If you work in an office environment where meetings are common, then you know how important it is to be prepared. Being prepared and using your time effectively can set you apart from your peers, and it may just be the key to getting that promotion you’ve had your eye on.
With Meeting+, you can get the most out of meetings, whether leading or participating (the app is designed for both administrators and employees). It has features that allow you to research, plan, and execute meetings in the most efficient way, and it provides you with the tools to capture, analyze, organize, and share meeting information to improve overall productivity.
When you open the Meeting+ on your iPad, you will be asked to import your contact information into the app. If you do not have contact information, you’ll need to create it, because the app needs your email address to function. It will also need to access your entire contact list and your calendar so keep that in mind before purchasing.
After the app has your necessary information, you can immediately begin entering meetings into the schedule. This app provides a great way to keep your meetings organized, because there’s a full template that lets you create meetings, set locations, start times, durations, instructions, and objectives.
Meetings are automatically added to an easily readable calendar on the left side of the screen, so all of your information is always right at your fingertips. A navigation bar at the bottom of the app provides even more tools.
Tapping on the people button allows you to invite people to the meeting, and see who is attending. The topics tab will provide a list of set objectives so that meetings run smoothly, and the summary tab allows you to create notes on what went on at the meeting as it takes place. There’s also a voice recorder that you can access at the top to record the entire meeting.
There are info links that you can send out and access ahead of time, or add in as the meeting progresses to keep everything organized. You can also create a bullet list of tasks to complete before or after the meeting, which is a handy way to create and execute goals that were drawn up during the meeting.
When the meeting has ended, you can use all of the aforementioned tools to create detailed reports and task lists which you can then share with everyone who attended. Because you can import and export meetings, this app provides a great way for everyone in the office to share notes and keep track of all scheduled meetings.
What I liked: This app is feature rich, with plenty of tools for every aspect of participating in a meeting, from planning to execution and sharing information afterwards.
What I didn’t like: There aren’t exactly clear instructions on how to use this app, and it’s not entirely straightforward. There are so many tools that it might confuse users rather than help them, so if you download this, make sure to set some time aside to learn how to use all of the features that this app has to offer. Even after experimenting with this app for over a half an hour, I still wasn’t sure how all of the features worked together.
To buy or not to buy: Meeting+ could certainly use a better user interface, but it is still a highly effective app for organizing meetings. If you regularly conduct or attend meetings, this is a great app to consider.
