When the iPad first came out, Zagg was one of the first companies to begin developing keyboard cases for the tablet. It’s Zaggmate iPad case with Optional Keyboard sold well, and since then, the company has continued to innovate with all new keyboard cases for Apple’s line of iPads.
In September, Zagg is planning to add to its popular keyboard lineup, with the ZAGGkeys Pro and Pro Plus Bluetooth keyboards.
The Pro and the Pro Plus keyboards from Zagg are ultra thin, sleek, and portable thanks to their slim design. The ZAGGkeys use a magnetic closure to secure the iPad when not in use, protecting the screen from dust, dirt, scratches, and smudges.
Both new keyboards provide a natural typing experience with a compact layout, and use dedicated function keys for iPad-specific operations. The ZAGGkey Pro Plus also has an optional backlighting feature, making it one of the few backlit iPad keyboards available on the market.
Keyboard cases have grown in popularity as the iPad continues to make inroads with the corporate customers. During Apple’s last quarterly earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook called out the iPad’s enterprise success and said it has become an “indispensable tool” for corporate employees worldwide. According to Apple, 94% of the Fortune 500 and 75% of the Global 500 are actively testing or deploying the iPad in their corporate environment. This enterprise adoption boom has helped grow demand for iPad business accessories and this has translated into a great sales opportunity for iPad accessory makers.
Both the ZAGGkey Pro and the ZAGGkey Pro Plus are will be available for purchase beginning in September, on the Zagg website. They are expected to retail for $99 and $129, respectively.
