Amazon has released an updated version of its Kindle app for iOS, featuring improved brightness control and a quick highlighting tool for all iOS devices, plus new margin size options for the iPad and new functionality for print replica textbooks.
The brightness control slider is now more responsive, and font hues have been optimized for a more comfortable reading experience. Highlighting passages is much quicker for adding notes and sharing quotes or passages. On the iPad, you also now have a choice between three different margin sizes to adjust how much white space is on the screen.
Several new features have been added to make using print replica textbooks much easier. Photos, illustrations, tables and charts can now be highlighted. All textbook highlights, bookmarks and notes are now compiled in a new Notebook feature and can be tagged for future reference. Navigating the textbooks has also become easier through the addition of back/forward buttons and page thumbnails.
The updated Kindle app is available for free and is compatible on any iOS device running version 4.3 or later.
