Moleskine is busy making its way into the digital world. The company just announced that it is paring up with Evernote to produce the Evernote Smart Notebook, and now it is replacing its original Moleskine app that was released last year with a brand new version, the Moleskine Journal.
The new notebook app, which features a complete redesign, is focused on simplicity and elegance with the classic Moleskine journal style.
In the app, you will find pages that support both landscape and portrait modes. In landscape mode, the app will open to a double-spread view. An in-app signature inner pocket stores your favorite images and text, while a full artist toolset allows you to create sketches, paintings, and more.
All the art tools, including the watercolor brush, the pencil, the pen, and the highlighter, have full size control and a full spectrum color selector, complete with opacity slide and custom swatch library.
Text can be entered using all available iOS fonts, and multiple undo and redo options ensure that every mistake can be easily erased. You can even insert your own images with the iPad’s cameras and share your projects via email, Facebook, or Twitter.
Want to try it out? You can currently download the Moleskine app from the App Store for free. Stay tuned next week for a complete review of the all new Moleskine Journal.
