PopCap Games’ most popular app, and one of the iPad’s most popular all-time downloads, Plants vs. Zombies is getting a sequel.
If you’ve played the original to death, and it came back to life and ate your brains, you’re in luck because the new version will have all new plants and zombies to rejuvenate you.
According to a recent announcement by PopCap Games, a division of EA Games, PVZ2 will launch sometime in the spring of 2013. It will include new features such as different settings and situations, new plants and a variety of new zombies.
From the company’s press release,
crullest curlieungood time, and plantz grow dull roots,” noted an unidentified spokesperson. “So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlueplan… we’re freee anytime. We’ll find you.”
For those of you that have not yet had a chance to play Plants vs. Zombies, you should probably stop reading and go download it right now. I’ll wait. Back? OK, good. This fantastic castle defense game incorporates strategy, multi-step planning and undead humor.
Players must stop oncoming waves of zombie hordes by growing plants that shoot down, poison, freeze and blow-up the walking dead. Each time you stop the horde from encroaching on your abode, a stronger wave will attack. Players unlock new types of plants that add more powerful damage, but take longer to produce the deadly “fruit.”
There are 50 levels in adventure mode, 22 mini games and 26 different kinds of zombies in the original game. How the developers plan to top that in Plants vs. Zombies 2 seems impossible to imagine. What other kinds of walking dead creatures are out there?
