Until last week, Verizon’s video discovery app, Viewdini, was only available on Android-based devices. As of last Thursday, the content service provider welcomed iOS into its media-viewing arms.
Historically, Viewdini was only available while subscribers were using Verizon’s 4G LTE wireless network. The iOS version is available on any network, including 3G and local wireless.
The Android version of Viewdini includes 18 content provider, but the iOS version currently only offers information from 11 content providers, including iTunes, Hulu Plus, Netflix and Verizon’s own video service. Presumably, more content providers will be added to the list over time.
The app gives detailed information about movies and television shows like cast and crew, show summaries, individual episode guides and airdates, and user and critic reviews. Once you’ve found the movie or TV show you want to watch, see where it is available click the provider’s icon to stream the content right on your iPad or iPhone.
There is also a search engine where users can look up movies and television shows from their favorite actors. Browse through thousands of titles from Crackle, Hulu Plus, Netflix, Verizon FiOS, FunnyorDie.com and more. Check out popular movies, find out what’s trending, see what’s new and watch popular Web shows.
The app is free and available for the second and third-generation iPad, as well as the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and 4S, and the third and fourth-generation iPod touch. Download it in the App Store today.
