Wirelessly Stream Music from an iPad to Your Speaker Dock with CoolStream

If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch speaker dock and are loathe to purchase another product just for the larger sized iPad, don’t worry, because Exeter Science and Entertainment has a solution for you.

The new CoolStream Bluetooth receiver, which is similar to the recent Pear Kickstarter project, plugs into any iPhone, iPad, or iPod docking station and allows you to use the dock to stream music from your iPad or other mobile device.

With CoolStream, you no longer need to have your device plugged into the dock to hear your music. Instead, you can take your device anywhere in the house, while still being able to listen to your favorite tunes.

It also works in the car, so you can take it with you on the go. If you have a manufacturer installed iDevice cable in the glove compartment or the center console, you can connect the CoolStream and then use it to play music directly through your car speakers.

If you want to check it out, the CoolStream Bluetooth Receiver can currently be purchased from Amazon.com for $39.99, which may be a cheaper solution than buying a whole new dock or speaker system.

    I had not seen this device before and was really happy when I used it with my ihome clock radio. I may be a lured in every few years by a shiny new phone, but replacing all my accessories seems a little indulgent. The CoolStream is great because I can listen to music in the morning while I get ready for the day. It is really convenient to be able to scroll through some email and check out the news and weather on my phone close at hand while the music plays across the room.
