Trapit Looks to Make Web Browsing Smarter

We’re used to seeking out websites, following links, and searching for our own web content, but what if there was a better way to browse the Internet?

One company is aiming to create an all new browsing experience that’s simple, easy, and personal. Trapit for the iPad is designed to help people explore their existing interests and find new content using a powerful AI technology.

Trapit, which has been designed from the ground up for the iPad, promises to deliver a continuous stream of personalized content culled from the newest articles, features, blogs, and videos.

It sounds quite a bit like personalized magazines Flipboard or Zite, rather than a new browsing experience, but it is still a good way to find new content. You can select topics that you are interested in, and get tailored news while discovering new bloggers, online magazines, and newspaper features.

All sources are hand-picked by Trapit, so you’re sure to get reliable, high quality content to read on your iPad. The app also learns what you like as you browse, and gets smarter as time goes on.

To use the app, simply log in and then create “Traps” on what you’re interested in using the included discover bar and idea generator, then browse away.

You can save important articles to the reading list, and share them with friends on your social networks.

Want to try it out? You can currently download Trapit for the iPad from the App Store for free.
