Improve the Functionality of Your Smart Cover with the Smarter Stand
Occasionally, there’s a Kickstarter project that really takes off, reaching and exceeding its funding within days or even hours thanks to a particularly smart, innovative design.
The Smarter Stand, a piece of plastic that turns your Smart Cover into a fully fledged iPad stand, is one of those special Kickstarter projects that you just have to back, all the while marveling that something so simple doesn’t already exist.
This stand, from Dotan Saguy, a product designer in Los Angeles, is an iPad accessory composed of two clips that attach to each side of the iPad’s Smart Cover or Smart Case, locking the folds of the cover in place.
If you add one clip to the first fold of the Smart Cover, you get a 33 degree angle, while one clip over the first fold and one over the second fold results in a 45 degree angle. Both of these angles are perfect for gaming, video watching, and more.
Moving the clips to different spots and using them in unique combinations will give you several stand possibilities, allowing you to manipulate your iPad into the exact position that you want.
If you’re a regular Smart Cover user, you know that propping your iPad up with the cover isn’t always stable, yet another problem that the Smarter Stand solves.
The clips can be permanently attached to your iPad and stay out of the way when the cover is shut, making the this the world’s most portable iPad stand.
