This week, it was discovered that Apple had mistakenly been pushing out corrupted app binaries to several different applications over the last few days, meaning if you updated your app, you received a corrupt, unusable version of the app.
These corrupted apps crashed immediately upon launch, even after being deleted and reinstalled. This has been going on for three days, with more than 70 apps affected.
A fix should be imminent, as Apple has let developers know that it is aware of the issue and working on a solution.
Here’s what Apple posted on the Developer Forums:
“We are aware of the issue related to apps crashing after update. We are currently working on resolving the issue. Stay tuned for updates.”
Several of the apps affected by this problem have received negative reviews in the App Store, and at this point, it is unknown if Apple will remove the wrongly received ratings.
