Keep Your Kitchen Organized with Grocery List – Buy Me a Pie!

Grocery List – Buy Me a Pie is a list making app that’s super simple, but incredibly useful. If you live in a household where you often share the cooking and shopping duties with other people, this is a must have app.

With this app, you’ll be able to sync and share your grocery list with the whole family, making grocery shopping a breeze.

Need your significant other to pick up milk on the way home from work? Add it into Buy Me a Pie, and a notification will automatically be sent.

This list making app has a brilliant, polished design that makes it quick and easy to enter in list items. Simply tap to enter an item name, add in a colon, and enter the quantity. Need a loaf of bread? Enter it this way: Bread, 1 loaf. The app automatically organizes the input into an easy to read list.

There’s also a predefined list. While it comes with some basic items already entered, such as soap, bread, and milk, any other item you input into the app will be automatically entered to the quick find list. The next time you type it, the app will pop up a list of suggested words before you’re even finished, and list making becomes even quicker.

The list is color coded with seven different colors, so you can group like items together. If you mark milk as blue, and then later add cheese and give it the blue tag, the two items will show up next to each other in the list. This is a fantastic organizational option that lets you categorize your groceries in any way that you choose.

When an item has been purchased, you can tap on it to scratch it out. Pulling up on the list will remove all the purchased items, leaving you a clean slate to work with for the next time.

The best part about this app is that you can create an account to share lists between two or more people. With one account, you can make as many lists as you want, and everyone can access them. It’s perfect for letting the whole family know what’s needed.

If you don’t want to share an account, or if one of you doesn’t have the app, you’re able to send your lists using texts (on a phone) or email, which is also very handy.

What I liked: This app has an intuitive user interface that’s easy to use. The sharing features are great, and this is the perfect way to streamline grocery shopping.

What I didn’t like: I’m a bit of a stickler for formatting, and the app wouldn’t let me type brand names with capital letters. For example, entering Kashi Go Lean transmitted to Kashi go lean in the list. It’s a minor complaint, but aesthetically, it’s unattractive. I also kept trying to tap to edit, which continually deleted my list items. I would like to see an easier way to edit lists, as well as a better tool for deletion (instead of a single tap anywhere on the list item).

To buy or not to buy: Grocery List – Buy Me a Pie is currently free through the Fourth of July. I’d highly recommend picking it up while it’s available at no cost, though its still worth purchasing even at $2.99.
