Pioneer Brings Music to the Party with New Line of AirPlay Ready Speakers

Pioneer Electronics, a leader in home audio systems, has just announced the upcoming release of its newest line of wireless speakers that are compatible with Apple’s gadgets. The XW-SMA1, XW-SMA3, and XW-SMA4 are all AirPlay enabled and ready to pump up the volume of your next party.

Each set of speakers offer the ability to connect to the music on your computer via local Wi-Fi or from your iPhone or iPad through Apple’s AirPlay using DLNA 1.5 connectivity.

The speakers can be set up as single-room sound systems or across multiple rooms in the house.

All three speaker systems also offer Pioneer’s Wireless Direct Technology, turning the speaker into a wireless Wi-Fi access point. Thanks to Wireless Direct, users can set up a speaker unit in an area that does not have Wi-Fi capabilities.

Each high-quality speaker system includes its own level of technology listed below.

  • XW-SMA1 – Features dual 3-inch speakers and a ¾-inch soft dome tweeter, and uses a tuned bass reflex port to enhance bass response.
  • XW-SMA3 – Using identical audio components as the XW-SMA1-K, the XW-SMA3-K model adds a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery and a tough exterior for added convenience and portability. When battery power is used, music playback lasts up to 4 hours at maximum volume and up to 6 hours at 50 percent volume.
  • XW-SMA4 – Features five speakers, including dual 3-inch speakers, a dedicated 4-inch subwoofer and dual ¾-inch soft dome tweeters.

The SMA Wireless Speakers will be available this August for $299 for the XW-SMA1, $399 for the XW-SMA3, and $399 for the XW-SMA4. For more information on retail shops that will be selling the SMA Wireless Speakers in your area, visit the company’s website.
