Welcome to the Jungle Baby! Now, You Can Shred Like Slash With IK Multimedia’s Newest App

Who ever said that Guns N’ Roses is no longer a viable rock band for the annals of music history? O.K., lets not talk about Chinese Democracy. Technically, that album was all Axl’s fault. In fact, the notoriously temperamental singer was the only original member of G N’ R by the time the ill-fated album released in 2008, so it shouldn’t be part of the rock group’s discography.

Everyone knows that the band’s mysterious guitarist Slash was the real backbone of the band. Remember that melodic riff from “Sweet Child O’ Mine?” For anyone who stood in front a mirror in 1987, playing air guitar to “Paradise City,” you’re childhood fantasies can be a reality with IK Multimedia’s newest app. Now, you’ll be dancin’ with Mr. Brownstone while you play guitar through Amplitube Slash.

That’s right G N’ R fanatics, Amplitube Slash comes with virtual versions of two of Slash’s favorite Marshall amplifiers, the JCM Slash Edition Sliver Jubilee and the AFD100. Additionally, self-proclaimed rock gods can add six of Slash’s signature stompbox effects, including Delay, Gate Octave/Fuzz. X-Chorus, Booster and Wah/Distortion.

On the iPad, guitarists can combine up to four stompbox effects at a time with a signal chain that can be customized with an amp/cabinet/mic output. Really push the limits of your virtual pedal board by connecting to your Mac for up to 12 stopmbox effects combinations and a dual amp/cabinet/mic/room signal chain.

AmpliTube Slash features a fully integrated multi-track recording studio so you can create and capture your new rock opera. You can also import your favorite songs from Use Your Illusion I, or really any song you wish, and play along with the big dogs.

To connect with AmpliTube Slash, you will need some kind of guitar-to-iPad adaptor, like the company’s popular iRig. To connect with your Mac or PC, you will need a USB adaptor for your guitar. Lucky for you, IK Multimedia has one of those too.

The app is $9.99 and can be downloaded from the App Store with a $14.99 in-app purchase for a sweet 8-track recorder. If you already have the original AmpliTube app for the iPad, grab the update and download Slash right from within the app. The Mac/PC version is $79.99 and can be purchased directly from the company’s website.

I love the video of Slash shredding with AmpliTube.
He’s a legendary guitarist, and it’s so cool he has an app  with official Marshall amps.
This app isn’t the sort of fluff you typically see from musicians. Slash is the real deal.
