Everyone’s favorite fruit slicing and dicing app Fruit Ninja was updated yesterday, in honor of its two year anniversary. Since its debut in 2010, Fruit Ninja has routinely topped the App Store charts thanks to its ultra fun fruit-decimating gameplay.
Today’s update added a range of new features and characters that will have you re-addicted to Fruit Ninja in no time. Prepare to spend the rest of the day chopping and shredding watermelons, peaches, and bananas.
So what’s new? There’s now an in-app currency, the starfruit, which is used to buy bonuses. Starfruits can purchase berry blasts, which explode for extra points, bomb deflects, and peaches, which add an extra two second per peach to your time in both zen and arcade modes.
While starfruit can be bought as an in-app purchase, you’re awarded with 1,000 for free, and you earn plenty while playing the game. The higher the score you get in any mode, the more starfruit you’re rewarded with.
These new bonuses make gameplay exciting and fun, allowing players to reach all new score heights. If you already own Fruit Ninja HD, you can update right on your device. If you don’t own it, now’s a great time to check it out. You can download the app from the App Store for just $2.99.
