Earlier this month Google updated its Google+ app, adding better stream navigation and an all new photo centric design. Now the Mountain View-based company has also revamped its Google Search app for the iPhone and the iPad.
When you use Google’s search app, you’ll be greeted with a redesigned interface that provides faster search results, a full-screen image search, and a simple way to access all of your Google apps in one location.
According to Google, autocorrect works much faster in the new version of the app, and pages are loading faster. Checking out multiple pages is simple thanks to a slide-in panel which will allow users to swipe back and forth between webpages and search results. This is a fantastic feature that will likely have many people reaching for the app rather than their Safari web browsers.
The new image search will load high resolution images into a well-designed grid. The images can be browsed with simple scrolling, while tapping on an image allows you to get image details and a tap hold saves it to your camera roll. Of course, the new image search looks gorgeous on the Retina displays of the iPhone 4S and the third generation iPad.
If you don’t already use Google’s search app, you may want to download it to check out the changes. The app is available as a free download in the App Store. Those of you who already use it will need to update to get the new features.
