FieldRunners 2 Set to Hit App Store in June!

There is fantastic news for those of you tower defender types currently addicted to FieldRunners: Subatomic Studios is proud to announce the sequel to this popular game, ready to be released in June of this year!
The game, promising to have been developed in large part with the help of feedback and comments given from actual users of the first game (offering “more levels, more weapons, more enemies, and more ways to play”), will be released for the iPhone first with a dedicated iPad version following soon afterward (too bad it wasn’t a single, universal app compatible with both).
Features of this new game include 20 beautifully hand-painted levels spanning four distinct zones giving players of the game the chance to enjoy 20 upgradeable towers (including the limbo-of-death Link tower, the sniper-like Railgun tower, and the we-probably-shouldn’t-be-giving-this-to-people Nuke tower join) and customizable loadouts while defending the unique new maps.

In case that wasn’t enough, the developers promise “devastating air strikes and precision-based power up attacks” in addition to new “mind-bending puzzle maps and innovative sudden death maps.” The precise strategy required to conquer the 30 different types of enemies that we are told rush the field like never before should keep you coming back to this game time and again to best your last attempts. Games like this put you at odds with yourself, competing to do more and do it better than you were able to the last time you played.
More details are promised to us over the next few weeks leading up to the new release, all of which will be eagerly consumed by those of us already addicted to the first FieldRunners title. No word yet on a specific date for release but with the first installment being well worth the price of admission, it should be sufficed to say that it won’t come soon enough!
