Swordigo is an ultra fun action RPG platformer that plays a lot like an old school Zelda game.
The hero is clad in green, you can chop up the grass to get gems, and you explore a magical realm with dungeons, towns, puzzles, and plenty of enemies to defeat. Swordigo comes equipped with some of the best platform game controls that I’ve used yet – movement with the two arrows is accurate, jumping is spot on, and attacking enemies with swords and spells is an easy task.
Every level is filled with enemies, so you’ll need to be handy with your sword and your spells. As you level up, you can increase your magic or your sword skill, adding a bit of character specialization.
Since this game was designed as a classic platformer, there are lots of tricky puzzles to solve, including finding keys and working out how to get around barriers. This is a fairly challenging game that will have you replaying some levels, but it’s also incredibly fun and addictive.
Enemies have innovative abilities to overcome, and boss fights are anything but run of the mill. I’ve been playing Swordigo for weeks on end, so I know firsthand that its got a ton of gameplay and a lot of unique content.
