N.O.V.A 3 To Land in the U.S. App Store Any Minute Now, New Zealand Already Has It

Fans of the epic game series N.O.V.A. rejoice. Today, Gameloft is launching the third installment in this Halo-inspired series in the App Store. It has already made it to the New Zealand App Store (lucky jerks) so, it will just be a few hours more before N.O.V.A. 3: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance hit the U.S. store.

According to sources, N.O.V.A. 3 has “vastly improved visuals thanks to real-time dynamic lighting and shadows.”

The graphics seem to be of the highest caliber with an intense depth-of-field and improved ragdoll physics, making Gamelofts newest release on par with console-quality gaming.

From the developer’s blog, one lucky U.S. citizen that won a copy of N.O.V.A. 3 in a giveaway contest has already had the chance to play the game. He gives it a positive review saying it is “way better than other games in the N.O.V.A. series.” He also pointed to better graphics, gameplay, artificial intelligence and ragdoll physics. When asked what the most significant differences between N.O.V.A. 2 and this game were, he said the gameplay was most noticeable, while improvement to the controls was also distinct.

9to5Mac offers a rundown on their website of a list of features to be ready for in N.O.V.A. 3, including an epic storyline, multiple weapons and powers and12-player battles in six multiplayer modes on six different maps.

The app is expected to go live sometime this evening and will cost $9.99. Pick it up in the App Store by clicking here when it becomes available (please note that the link will not work until the app has launched in the U.S. App Store).

Check out the newest trailer below. Don’t salivate all over your iPad though, that’s just messy. If you can’t see the video, click here for a direct link to the trailer on YouTube
